A quickie!



This is gonna be a quick entry.. i hv to start baking my cookies soon or i will never get it done by thursday.. friday i am planning to do a little bit of spring cleaning in the morning and will probably meet up with Sue and family for dinner.. cant wait to see that woman again and Maddie.. ohhhhh auntie will hug u like there is no tmrw hahahha..



Saturday morning my sis in law will be flying in fm Austria and will be staying with us for a couple of days and that shud keep us busy.. we hv so many plans that we dont even know where to start lol.. err not forgetting this weekend my cousin is getting married.. will definitely take loads of pics and hopefully.. insyallah.. i will start to bake my layer cake orders fm monday onwards... busy busy busy till CNY.. cant wait for the long hols next week!



Ekkkk my so called quick entry has becoming into a 3 short para lol.. i loveeeee loveeee this cake so so much... I heart deep deep and i am pretty sure mom will heart this cake too when i gv it to her later in the evening.. bake it ladies and u will definitely heart me for this hehehe





Ingredients
200g margarine - i didnt use
100g butter - i used 300g butter
300g powdered sugar - i used 280g caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla powder
5 eggs
300g flour
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 tbsp cocoa powder dissolved in 2 tablespoons hot water - i used valrhona
1 tsp black forest paste - i added (u can always use chocolate paste wokey)

Method
Preheat the oven... ( I preheat oven at 170C)
Prepare and greased a 20x20 baking pan or 2 loaf or oval baking dish - i used a 6" round pan and a loaf pan..
Sift together, flour, baking powder and baking soda, set aside.
Dissolve cocoa powder with hot water, set aside.
Beat margarine, butter, vanilla and sugar until smooth.
Lower mixer speed to level 1.. add eggs one at a time while continuing to whisk
Add in the sifted flour and stir well.
Take half of the batter and mix with cocoa mixture.
Pour white batter alternately with chocolate batter until both batter runs out.
Create a marble motif with a toothpick - i used chopstick
Then bake until done. Remove the cake from pan when it is cold.


Note: This cake taste better the next morning.. so if u intend to serve it the next day.. i wud advise u to bake it the night bef..



Hehehe just to let u girls see what these monster did to my diet kahkahkah... i hv not cooked this for the longest time and i ate like 4 plates of rice yesterday... so sedap and spicy! recipe u can get it fm here.. cheers!

anyway, i tgh mencari cari recipe layer cake kat your blog ni..my brother mintak i buatkan for the hantaran, dia tknk kek fondant ke, ke buttercream ka, dia nak layer cake tau..adoiii dah lah i cukup tk rajin nak lelama kat kitchen tu..btw, i rasa nk try the lapis hawflakes orange tu since my bro suka makan hawflakes tu...
eh, ths marble kek is so big eh? alaaa camner nak buat half tu dahla use 5 eggs :((

Jannah tgk gambar kek ni dia ckp waaahh sedapnya, sedap...and pretend2 to amik the cake from the screen and makan hahahaz. Dia ckp waaah ada blueberry...hmmmzz mana ada blueberry asal boleh ajer budak ni...

Everytime I see Kek Marmer, ingat when my mom baked for my girl last yr. Sampai sekarang my girl mintak pegi Sg to eat kek. Yummmmm.

Anyway if u nak buat setengah adonan.. u weigh ur egg ok.. 5 eggs is equivalent or abt 300g so kira if u nak bake half recipe ur eggs shud weigh 150g. try ah..

Actually i nak letak belimbing but tak de pulak kat pasar..boring betul lah but kan dah habis pun lauk.. tdy i cook ayam penyek.. 2 hari makan nasi berturut turut. besok diet ah kahkahkah

Itew gothic building berdepan dengan raffles hospital.. Sonia was born there.. stayed at their suite room so when i looked out of my room window i akan nampak itew gothic building.. thats where the austrian embassy is too.. dah dekat Sun Lik tu.. boleh beli valrhona chocolate.. barry callebaut hehe :o)

Cuba try buat.. i think kita orang melayu memang fav ke marble ni tau.. my mom suka sangat kek marble.. teringat waktu kecik.. my mother suka bake for us kat tin mentega cap tong for our cemelan.. yg benar dia takut kita habis kan yg kat loyang tu sebab dia bake us kat tin tu hehe

This cake is so easy to make and it is so delicious. Thanks for sharing this recipe with us.

I can now do this cake without referring to the recipe as I have memorised the ingredients and steps at my finger tips. Why? Because last week, I baked this 3 times :) Planning to bake this cake again this weekend.
