Cappuccino Cookies





A simple bake for a simple Monday... earlier on I finally got the chance to taste my Donna Hay's cuppies that I baked yesterday and let me tell u something abt it.. not only is the cake rich.. the buttercream tastes yummilicious! I must admit that I had some probs pipping the buttercream at first as the texture of the buttercream was a little runny for my liking but once I piped it and placed it in my fridge to let it set.. it worked wonders.. so do gv that cuppies recipe a try cos to me.. it tastes equally as delish as the truffle cuppies...


Anyway heres another recipe fm Ibu Tio .. I wished these cookies tasted more of coffee than chocolate but if ur using like 50g of cocoa powder.. what do u expect?? hehehe.. next time i will add a tsp of coffee oil or maybe add another 1/2 tbsp of instant coffee to gv it a more coffee taste...






Ingredients
185g flour
50g cocoa powder (I used KoKo Black fm Melbourne)
1/2 tbsp instant coffee (I used nescafe)
225g butter
125g icing sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence





Method
Preheat oven 150C
Sift flour, cocoa powder and instant coffee
Beat butter and icing sugar till soft... Add in sifted dry ingredients and continue to beat till well combined
Add in vanilla essence
Pipe batter onto baking tray.. sprinkle with cherry, raisins, almond nibs or icing sugar.. whatever u hv in ur pantry..
Bake for abt 15 to 20 mins (I baked mine for 12 mins)

Its been such a pleasure reading your blog i tink i read yours almost about 6 months since i stumble upon it as my friend pass it to me coz she said u bake lovely cake and cookies...

But tell u a lil secret i open ur blog dialy from 9-5 coz u have a beautiful playlist which i dont get tired of listening again and again...in the office that i find sumting missing if i dont open it...Cheers on your great blog.....

U overbeat ur butter ke?? Did u chill ur batter bef u bake em?? Another thing.. Bila pan still warm dont letak ur cookie dough .. Err ada faham kah?? Haha

pan still warm dont put cookie dough = ...ini tarak paham...ekekek...u mean when i re-use the pan for 2nd round of baking eh??....

anyway...sungguh tak paham bila nak stop when they say "beat sugar n butter till its light n fluffy"....slalu tgk mcm da light n fluffy jer....then sumtimes they nvr say high speed ke..low speed ke...hehehe...ni lah akibatnya kalau buat kuih setahun sekali...muahahhaa...

yes Ain when u re-use the pan.. harus ade at least 2 pan so that u can rotate kan bila membakar.. tang overbeat butter tu.. usually kalau mau bikin cake u hv to beat it like 7-8 mins gitew... if cookies beat ard 5mins or lesser lah.. depending on ur mixer.. if ur beating butter u usually pakai high speed.. kalau low bila nak game kahkahkah.. bila masuk telur satu persatu.. u use low speed first then u turn the speed to high.. add another egg slow speed then high speed .. gitew lah seterusnye :op

hmmm...no leh...we got like 5 pans so we usually dont re-use the pan....then probably tang butter lah tu yg buat biskut ku flatttt....

hahha...yeah...use high speed...then bila nak add on stuffs...i either slow down or stop (bole ke?)....

yeah...actually part masak2 dan bakar2 kuih n biskut ni...nak kena tgk...baru will understand better...kenkadang baca instructions ni susah nak figure out wat they mean...

hehe..bukak ah kelas baking..nanti i come...n drag my SIL @ ur sis along...hahahha....

Kak, im make this cookies last nite. But arr.. it didnt retain its shape lah. In the end, it became kinda like round cookies aje. But taste mmg okeh ler sesuai tuk raya. Ni baru jeguk ur comment. aiseyyy... i overbeat the butter ler nih... Dah wat 2 adunan dah... uhukkk actually ni first year i bake my own raya cookies nih. he he... slalu wat cake aje...

Yan there is a lot of tips online on how to prevent ur cookies fm jadi flat n one of them butter tu.. Jgn overbeat.. Making cookies tak macam buat cake n to be honest i dah biasa buat one cookie that turned out macam ufo hahaha.. Sayang cos i ended up buang that cookie dough (imagine 450g chocolate down the drain) so really to me whatever u bake.. Kira macam ikut nasib gitew.. But once u dah used to baking em u will know urself how the texture of ur batter shud be.. Hope that helps

Tip no one .. try not to overbeat ur butter.. make sure ur butter tak terlalu lembek bila u nak start beat.. meaning jangan sampai ur butter turn oily..

cookie ni memang macam rapuh sikit.. but tak lah rapuh rapuh.. i still dont know if i nak buat cookie ni.. i was thinking of baking another type of cookie fm one of the indon blogger.. see how lah this weekend..

Hi, this cookie was delicious. I added 1tsp of coffee emulco since you said, the coffee taste wasn't strong enough. Where can I get coffee oil?
