Not again!!! seriously?? what the....!!! this is the second time i baked this cake and arghhhhhh!!!! am frustrated... i dont know what went wrong.. maybe its my baking powder?? maybe the poppy seeds?? cant be the poppy seeds.. right??!! geeeshhh .. will go and get another tub of yogurt and also a new can of baking powder after sholat... grrrrr.. I will bake u again and again till i get it right!! hahaha
After 450g of butter, 420g of sugar, zest of 6 lemons, 6 eggs, 600g of yogurt, 600g of self raising flour(had to buy a pack, which i dont approved cos i dont usually use SRF in my bakes, just in case i screwed up again) and 3 tbsp of lemon juice...

Biler tgk the outer part of the cake, nampak cantik aja. Dlm hati I ckp apa pulak yg salah ahakksss. Biler tgk dlm keknya baru I tahu mmg salah. Apasal? I also dunno hehehez...maybe like u say the baking powder kot :D

Tak lah.. tak merajuk pun.. dah suratan takdir.. ahakss.. memang betul kita selalu salah kan diri sendiri dulu but kan if dah 3 kali buat and take extra precautions jadi nye pun sama aje.. i think kan tu tandanye nak kena bake lain cake..

Maybe the cake is supposed to look like that ke inside that's why you buat a few times jadi the same?
Kalau you yg terer baking jadi mcm ni, kalau I yg buat, mau langsung tak masak kot, hehehe..

Ada typo kat recipe kot.. 600g of yoghurt is way too much for a sponge cake. Entahkan should be 60g jer..

No no hehhe.. i baked this cake 3 times.. tu yg i type in how much ingredients i hv wasted in making this cake... each time i bake it i had to use 200g of yogurt lol and nope its not a sponge cake.. its lemon butter cake :o)
Haha, my cakes will always turn out like this when I used the one bowl method ( mix and beat all ingredients together ). So, nowadays I like to use the creaming method instead. :P
Even then, kalau ikut ratio wet:dry ingredients, 200g of yoghurt is too much moisture for the cake. Cuba derhakakan recipe tu(ikut kata2 Mat Gebu), reduce the yoghurt kot.. I ni memandai je pulak..
Rima....jgn putus asa...I pernah mengalami situasi cam ni....try buat macaroon....sampai kali ke 5 ke 6 kali....at last baru menjadi...he he....bila dah jadi sampai skrg tak buat lagi...

About the cake, I'm not sure what colour your pan is, but perhaps next time you try baking it, reduce the temperature by 10-20C and bake it longer just to be sure :) Oh, and I have to add, your pan very lawa lah!

Hv never tried eating anything with poppy seeds...wonder what it tastes like. Pardon me for saying this Rima...it seems that not only yr cake turned out wrong coz yr frustration seems to extend to the pics too...macam ada sumting yr kureng....not yr typical ISO standard. Or perhaps mata i aje yg see it that way.
during the long CNY wkend I baked the OSC cake, that sexy butter cake n also baked marble cake 3xs. Everybody enjoyed them so much n prior to that I made several marble cakes to give my chinese frens n neighbors. Tks 4 sharing all the recipes.
