Ok lets move on fm my previous post :op.. i had wanted to bake this kuih bakar ever since i saw it at mek siam aka Ijah's blog.. finally with little time in hand, i managed to bake it this afternoon and the person who ate most is Hairi and my super duper hb.. hes a sucker for this kuih lol.. not a big fan of kuih bakar lauk tho .. his loss hahahha..
Well ok peeps.. hv a good week ahead.. heres the recipe again :o)
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup pandan juice - (i used pandan paste and water)
2 cups plain flour
1/2 tsp salt
3 eggs
2 1/4 cups coconut milk (450ml)
2 tbsp butter
a few drops of green colouring
sesame seeds
Method
Blend all ur ingredients- put aside
Add 2tbsp of cooking oil in a 10" pan
Preheat oven and place ur pan in it. Once u see the oil heated, pour in batter, top it with sesame seeds and bake it at 175C for 90mins.. if u want ur kuih bakar not to hv crust.. u can bake it for an hr or till batter is baked... (previously i baked it for 45 mins 200C)

Just wanna give you tips if you wanna avoid the burnt crusty look. This kuih popular amongst Malaccan like me... my mum's "petus"... you heat the kuih bakar mold on your gas stove, brush the mold with oil using pandan leave once the oil heated, add the batter, once you add the sesame seed once you see half cooked you place it in the oven and baked till fully cooked,, so it will baked just nice... Cubalah....

btw, saya dah cuba buat steamed brownies yg kak rima buat tu...saya buat half adunan jer...pergh!!! mmg sedap sangat la...tapikan knp lapisan bawah steamed brownies agak lembik skit???? pastu kukus kena cover the batter dgn aluminium foil kan supaya air tak masuk..betul tak?

I terimgat waktu i hangkut benda tu and u asked me nak buat ape heheh.. ahhh nak buat ni lah .. ape lagi.. u kat sana tak yah buat cos ade mak jah kuih.. kat sini dah lah kuih mahal.. tak sedap and kadang nasib tak baik.. basi pulak tu.. haizzz
Kuih talam mak jah yg atas putih bawah brown tu sedap.. tak tahu nama ape lah kuih tu .. her putri salad also sedap :op
Ty Izah.. actually kan memang niat dihati nak makan yg hangus sikit.. but kan since u dah kasi tip fm ur mother akan ku practik kan when i buat kuih bakar ni lagi.. tks a million!

Memang sedap brownie kukus tu.. sampai ade yg mengodernye fm me.. i tak tutup with aluminium .. cuma tutup kukusan i bungkus dgn towel and steam it using med high fire

My MIL loves this kueh bakar kemboja (I think most Malaysian called it. However, she don't take butter at all. Even a little bit, she can smell it. If want to substitute with mazolla oil, what is the measurement?
Ni niat nak tawan hati mentua la ni. My FIL senang je, masak ape pun dia makan, MIL I susah sikit, kadang-kadang jadi kesian lak sbb banyak no benda dia tak mahu makan kalo ada butter/margarine. Haiiiiiiish
Sama aje Melati.. afterall i cair kan butter i bef i added it to my batter..
Tawan hati mentua?? nasib i tak yah tawan siapa2 hehe
kue bakar yg agak terbakar..hahhahaa, suka, suka..hangus2 sket tu yg sedap...mmg kalau buat kue ni, mmg saje bagi dia terbakar gitu, br boleh panggil kue bakar..hehehhe
Kahkahkah Jun.. harus hangus jadi bila makan.. steam kodok hahaha
