Heart Jello





A refreshing simple desert... not that simple to prepare since it has a few steps... love the taste... love everything abt this jelly heart... love the sour sensation mixed with the delicate texture of it... one thing for sure... someone will be so proud of me today cos I previously didnt hv the courage to gv this recipe a try since it rcvd lots of not so good reviews on how to prepare it... jelly didnt set properly.. slipping off when u slice it.. cheese mixture didnt set.. strawberry floats up.. etc etc etc... reviews like that can be a put off sometimes... Anyway tks to Yat for encouraging me to try out this recipe.. we all love it... its worth a try and honestly this jelly heart is a looker too hehehe






Ingredients for Biscuit base:
300 gm. Digestive Biscuits
140 gm. Melted Butter


Ingredients for fillings:
1 block of Philidelphia Cream Cheese (227g or 250g.. didnt matter)
10 gm. Gelatine Powder
50 gm. Sugar
1/2 cup Hot Water
1/2 tsp. Vanilla Essence

About 20 Strawberries - use a heart cutter to cut into heart shape (I cant be bothered heheh.. just slice em')


Topping:
1 box of Strawberry or Raspberry flavoured Jello (I used Raspberry)
1 1/2 cups boiling hot water
1 1/2 cups cold.






Method
(1) For biscuit base: Blend biscuits until fine and then mix with melted butter and mix thoroughly.
(2) Press into a 10" Square tray. Chill in the fridge to let it harden. (Lay a greaseproof paper or clingwrap into the tray (no loose bottom pls) with excess paper overhanging at the edge so that it will ease ur job of removing fm the tin)
(3) For fillings, stir gelatine powder with boiling hot water until it dissolves.
(4) Cream cream cheese, sugar and vanilla essence till creamy, add in gelatine mixture gradually and cream until smooth. Pour on top of chilled biscuits.
(5) Arrange cut-out heart shaped strawberries on top of cheese fillings. Put into the fridge to let it set.
(6) For topping, dissolve Jello in boiling water then pour in cold water and stir well. Let it completely cool.
(7) Pour over the set cream cheese filling slowly and gradually and put into the fridge again to let it set until firm.
(8) Slice and enjoy peeps!

Memang sesuai lah tu but kan i dont know if its a good idea for it to stand in room temp all day.. maklum ade cheese and jelly.. takut terlembek and basah pulak si bottom layer bila lama kat luar...

I'm thinking the next time i buat i will use more strawberry that way i will get more than 20pcs of cut heart jello.. kira smaller cut ah..

siang tadi I geledah website Kraft. I terjumpa the same looking dessert cumanya the base tu diorang guna pretzels. The strawberries dicampur terus dgn jelly unlike yours tersusun rapi.

hi, i was wondering, whats your trick in keeping the jello layer really smooth? the edges of your squares look so perfect! ive tried making this before and the jello layer always turns out lumpy.

Hi Anonymous.. can i hv ur name so that i can adrs u by name??

There is no trick really.. the jello part is just a mix thingy.. just make sure ur cheese mixture is set bef u pour the jelly.. use a tbsp to pour jelly just incase ur mixture has not properly set..

Dip knife into hot water bef slicing em..

menjadi but come to the cutting....its not as perfect as yours.....i cant imagine how u cut it so perfect.can i use nona kristal jelly?

U can use other kinda brand .. just make sure u ikut arahan yg kat boxnye.. i think nona kristal jelly lembek sikit kan?? i jused jello brand.. no probs slicing em.. just make sure u pour hot water over ur knife.. wipe it and quickly slice it..

one more Q..how u remove it fr tin?i hv problem eventhough i follow ur instruction to let the excess paper overhanging at the edge...when i pulled out,it tore...:)nona kristal jelly is a bit lembik.anyway thanks 4 the recipe,my students really love it

u used paper?? next time try using cling wrap instead.. easier and manageable... no tearing.. no probs taking it out fm the tin..

I pernah makan ni tau at my friend house time hari raya dia hidangkan.. sedap nak mampus cake ni! So i wonder macam mana org ni buat eh!? skali tup tup u ade recipe dia.! tros semangat i nak buat!! I'm making this right now. since it's my first time, I cut everything to half. I think biscuits are a little too thick for cheese layer. overall it looks good so far. gingers crossed
