Pretty Marie Cake (steam)

I wasnt planning to do any baking today... thought i prepare a simple munchies called Marie Batik Cake where u dont need to use mixer or even bake or steam it... its like a mix mix pour and chill kind of cake...but unfortunately i only hv like 200g of Marie Biscuit on hand where else Marie Batik cake uses 600g..

Sooo i decided to try out Dayang Jack recipe instead..its another kind of Serawak Layer cake... i know i've said that i am not a big fan of serawak layer cake cos of its sweetness... but i just couldnt resist looking at Dayang's cake... the sweetness of this layer cake is just right... the texture is super soft... the richness of chocolate is there and best of all... u dont get sick eating it... Hairi lovesssss it... Sonia ate a few slices... i like it alot plus its always a good thing to try out different layer cake recipe before Eid... this recipe is sure a keeper... tks Dayang!

Ingredients
250g butter (i used unsalted butter and add 1/4 tsp of salt to my flour)
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup self raising flour
2tbsp cocoa powder
1/3 cup milo
5 large eggs
1tsp vanilla essence
2tbsp browning sugar (u can use chocolate emulco if u want)
1/2 cup condense milk
Marie biscuit (cut each piece to 4pcs or smaller)

Method
Get steamer ready... place baking paper and greased a 7" square pan
Sift flour, cocoa powder and milo.. put aside
With stand mixer, beat butter and sugar till fluffy
Add egg one at a time, beat 1 min on each addition
Add condense milk and continue to mix well... add brown sugar.
Add flour mixture bit by bit on low speed
Add vanilla essence
Pour batter into pan and place marie biscuit
Steam layer by layer... 5 mins each layer (for some reason i had to steam mine for 15mins)
Once done.. steam last layer for an hour on medium fire..

NOTE: If u dont hv brown sugar u may replace it with chocolate emulco... u can always do ur own brown sugar tho... recipe fm HaSue.. according to her u can keep it for months.. no need to refridgerate it ok..

Ingredients
I cup of sugar
2/3 boiling water

Method
Heat pan.. pour sugar.. stir till sugar turn to brown
While still stirring add boiling water bit by bit.. pls be careful!!
Wait till it thicken and bubbling
Wallaaaa ur home made brown sugar heheh
